Ames, Iowa House Price Prediction¶
Goal: Predict prices of houses in Ames, Iowa.
Dataset: Ames Housing dataset, compiled by Dean De Cock. It has 1460 records and 79 explanatory variables that describe almost every aspect of residential homes in Ames, Iowa. Dataset is available on Kaggle
This project includes step-by-step analysis of houses in Ames, Iowa, from data wrangling to building a machine learning model that predicts house prices with high accuracy.
Lasso regression model performed the best. The model was finally tested on the test dataset (provided by kaggle). The test Root-Mean-Squared-Error was 0.11840 which placed the submission in the top 5% of kaggle’s leaderboard.
